During the May 2013 tornados, Horse Feathers participated along with Safe Haven Rescue from Gilmer, Texas in traveling to dispense supplies to horse owners who had been affected from the tornados. We spent several days driving the back country roads stopping to assist where needed. This experience has taught us that we need to work even more diligently on our Disaster Awareness, Training and starting a program that will allow us to help those in time of need. We are not just focusing on tornado victims but also those who are in any Natural Disaster.

We cant thank the folks at Safe Haven enough for coming to stay here twice, caravan, lug, load and help us when taking supplies out to horse owners. They have become great friends of ours and we enjoy spending time together. Richard, Debbie, Troy and we even met Emma and Mike that came from Texas also.

Disaster Relief

We want to thank the ASPCA for the Disaster Training Grant. Horse Feathers held a Basic Equine and Awareness Rescue (BEAR) Training at our facility. It is an 8 hour course designed to provide equine rescue training; basic horse awareness and emergency response for equine accidents.
