Words fail me as I try to explain how each and every horse that has come here has its own special uniqueness, its own personality, its own gift not only to myself but to those who come to the facility. Many times I have cried myself dry over the loss of one of our four legged. I, have had the honor and responsibility of being the last voice that they hear before they cross over on their spiritual journey.

Lily, registered as Plum Tricky came to us in April of 2007. She was standing at the Kill Buyers ready to leave in two days for slaughter, in foal and "bagged" up with milk. She had over 3" of heel, shoes on and her P3 (coffin bone) was through the bottom of her foot. We will have photos on our Farrier page soon to help educate those about issues such as Lily. Lily had her foal the following week on April 29, 2007 and spent 5 years with us in the best of care. She was loved by the Fans of Barbaro since she had her foal on Barbaro's birthday. Her baby was named "Plums Golden Day" aka as Goldie who lives here in Sanctuary.
